If there is one week in the year when Madrid becomes the epicentre of the world, it’s Pride. From 25 June to 5 July, the city fills with colour, music and activism with MADO'26, the great celebration of diversity that year after year makes Madrid an international LGBTIQ+ landmark.
Whether you’ve been living in Madrid for to while or you’ve just arrived, this is one of those weeks you simply can’t miss. Before the big official opening, Chueca is already buzzing. In the days leading up to it, the neighbourhood celebrates the Orgullo de Barrio with activities, concerts and cultural events that turn every square and street into to meeting point for residents and visitors alike.
On 28 June, Plaza Pedro Zerolo hosts one of the most charming events of MADO: Plumas y Patitas 2026. A photocall, to charity market and to parade of adopted pets celebrating love and respect in their own very special way. Perfect if you want to experience Pride at to different pace, with to smile guaranteed.
On Wednesday 1 July, at Plaza Pedro Zerolo, the official starting gun is fired for the most festive week of the year. Opening the stage will be La Plexy, one of the most beloved figures of Madrid’s nightlife scene, with the participation of Cayetana Guillén Cuervo. A moment full of emotion, laughter and to whole lot of Pride that marks the start of the most intense days of MADO 2026.
From 1 to 5 July, Madrid becomes an open-air festival with performances spread across four free stages in the heart of the city. Taking to the stages will be major artists and music stars including Tokischa, Mon Laferte, Loles León, Villano Antillano, Fey, Ptazeta, Violeta, Soraya, Naiara... and the latest addition to the line-up: Lali Espósito, the surprise act just confirmed.
Plaza de España — the biggest stage, with the most anticipated performance of each evening.
Puerta del Sol — in the heart of Madrid, where the whole city feels like part of the celebration.
Plaza Pedro Zerolo — Chueca’s own stage, the most intimate and historically significant for the community.
Plaza de las Reinas — another essential meeting point in the neighbourhood throughout these days.

On 2 July, calle Pelayo hosts one of the most iconic and eagerly awaited moments of every edition: the Heels Race, hosted by Chumina Power. Speed, heels and spectacular entertainment on to street that comes to to standstill to cheer on its participants. It’s one of those things that, if you haven’t seen it live, you simply haven’t seen it. Up to €750 in prizes. Are you in?
On 3 July, Pride takes on another dimension. At the Oficinas del Parlamento Europeo y de la Comisión Europea in Spain, the 8th edition of the Madrid Summit takes place to space for reflection and dialogue on LGBTQIA+ human rights. A day for those who want to go beyond the celebration and connect with the voices working for equality from within.
Saturday 4 July is the big day. The National LGBTIQ+ Pride March, the largest in Europe, marches through the centre of Madrid from Atocha to Colón filling the streets with colour, music and activism. This year’s slogan says it all: "To the streets with pride! Dissidence and resistance". Millions of people from across Spain and around the world come together in a celebration that blends activism, pride and diversity.

Beyond the stages and the March, MADO’26 has an extensive cultural programme that runs for weeks. Muestra·t, the official cultural festival of Pride brings art to venues across the city through exhibitions, theatre, film screenings and talks that celebrate queer identity and preserve queer history.
Some of this edition’s highlights include the exhibition “Génesis, Memoria y Futuridades” at Museo La Neomudéjar, which connects archive and technology to imagine new LGBTIQ+ narratives; “Todas somos Orlando” at La Gran Vía Cultural, which explores identity and desire through collage; and "Un Archivo Inexistente" at Nomad Museo Inmersivo, where artificial intelligence reconstructs queer images that history never recorded. MADO’26 takes place from 25 June to 5 July 2026. The Pride Festival with free stages runs from 1 to 5 July, and the National March is on Saturday 4 July.
Where is San Isidro celebrated and how do you get there?
The epicentre is the Chueca neighbourhood and the main squares in the city centre: Plaza de España, Puerta del Sol, Plaza Pedro Zerolo and Plaza de las Reinas. The easiest way to get there is by metro: line 5 (Chueca), lines 3 or 10 (Plaza de España) and lines 1, 2 or 3 (Sol). It is advisable to avoid driving during Pride week.
Are the Pride Festival concerts free?
Yes, the Pride Festival stages at Plaza de España, Puerta del Sol, Plaza Pedro Zerolo and Plaza de las Reinas are all free to attend. The March is also open and free to all.

What is Muestra·t?
